Hiram Church Car Wash

Several weeks back, I came up with the idea of having a free car wash at the Hiram church. It would serve several purposes. First, we could do some good outreach for the community. Second, it would show that our church is involved in community care. And third, we could hand them a brochure for our meetings that were coming up. I thought it was a great plan. I shared it with our pathfinder leader and he loved it as well.
So, we did. And it was fun. Some of the girls made signs and stood by the road for several hours. However, it really wasn't that successful. We had fun socializing, but there was only a few cars that actually stopped in. So, we took turns washing each of our own cars.
Even though it wasn't a huge success, it was a fun afternoon. And the funny thing is that now every time I tell Owen I'm going to church he wants to go to "wash cars."
