For Owen's Birthday we headed up to Nashville, TN to visit Heather's parents. As we drove into Nashville, we headed down Briley Pkwy past Opry Mills and Opryland Hotel. It was amazing. The water had gone down, however, you could see the water line on the other side of the hwy. There were hundreds of trucks and cleaning crews walking in and out of the mall and hotel. It is a mess. It is hard to judge if northwest Atlanta was hit as hard last September, however, floods are bad no matter where they are. Heather and I drove down the street from her parents, which is about a mile from the Cumberland river, and we saw entire streets with garbage laying out in the road. Their houses were flooded and the cleaning process has begun. My prayers are with all these people.

I just heard today that in terms of monetary damage this disaster is 2nd only to Katrina as far as natural disasters go. So sad.
