I will be honest. I was looking forward to the 11:00 AM conference and hearing whatever Tiger had to say. It had been three months. I wondered what was next. I wasn't looking to get any details about his pasts, I wanted to hear what was going to happen in the future. So, here are the quick takes from what I thought.
1. I thought it was honest, but sincerity of change is the question we will have to see.
2. I thought it was written from him and from his heart, but probably had several read over it and add suggestions.
3. I know he regrets his actions.
4. I know he feels the disappointment his family, friends, companies, and fans feel.
5. I thought he is more focused on fixing his problem and his family than worrying about when he will come back to the game of golf. He set no time limit. Maybe this year?
6. Though many are saying that he needs to get back out on the course and face the music, I believe he needs to do what he feels is his priority. And what he said, was that his marriage and kids are that priority.
7. I liked that he talked about his religion: Buddhism. It helped me understand his spiritual side.
8. I liked that he wanted to get back to who he was as a person, the way his parents raised him. That helped me think he was realizing he wasn't above the rest of the world.
9. I liked that he told the media to leave his family (wife and kids) alone. But, I doubt that will happen.
10. I liked that he said there has never been an episode of domestic abuse or violence between him and his wife. This to me was a believable statement that hopefully cleared both of them in that area.
11. I liked that he said he knew time and actions were going to show his family and the world that he has changed, not by simply saying a few words.
12. I thought it was interesting that at the end he said, he wanted to ask people to believe in him again. This shows me that he wanted people to trust, look up, and even idolize him. And again that will take time for everyone.
I would have to watch it again to maybe come up with a few more remarks. However, I think I liked, in general, what was said. However, time will tell the truth about his statements. I don't want to get caught up in his personal life, even though this is what this whole situation is all about. However, I am intrigued because this story is about change in one's life. I am intrigued because it is about forgiveness and growing. It is about learning how to handle the challenges we face in life. Tiger made the statement that he is the only one to blame. That is good. That is so hard for us to say.

I have to say that I feel sad. I feel sad for Elin. I feel sad for the power Tiger had and may still have. We will see. I feel sad to friends and family, especially the kids. However, I do believe there is something we can all learn from this story: his life, his career, his actions, his apology, his statement we heard today. Maybe it is trust. Maybe it is forgiveness. Maybe it is accountability. Maybe it is faithfulness.
